Bisto is THE MAN! Courtney traveled to the UK in 2009 when she had the opportunity to handle Bisto to Best Puppy at the GWP Club Show when he was only 6 months old. When William and Courtney returned back to the UK in March 2012, they had the privelege to watch him work in the field and knew at that point, he would be an asset to their hunting endeavors, and the Claddagh breeding program. Bisto has an incredibly dense, harsh coat with perfect amount of furnishing. He has a ton of drive in the field, and very cooperative, an absolute pleasure to hunt over and train. Bisto is rough tough dog that busts through brush, and breaks through ice, yet is incredibly sweet and gentle, loves to play with our other dogs and children.

Bisto arrived at Claddagh in Oct. 2012, and straight into the grouse woods of northern WI. He showed tons of promise, just needed some training. Bisto spent the winter months with William in Oregon training on several species of wild birds. He was ready and tested in NAVHDA Utility in August and earned a Prize I. Bisto finished his AKC show champion in style by going Winner’s Dog and Best of Winner’s at the 2013 GWPCA National for a 5 pt. major.

Bisto has proven to be an outstanding stud dog with only 5 litters on the ground to date. All litters earned NAVHDA NA Breeder’s Awards. His offspring are making quite an impact in the breed, and no surprise he was awarded GWPCA Top Producing Sire for 2016 and 2017!

We are extremely grateful to Bisto’s owner, Una Russell, for allowing Bisto to join our family and breeding program at Claddagh!
